Ecowas-Spanish Funds for Migration Assists Manneh Kunda Skills Center

As part of their tasks, the Ecowas-Spanish Funds for Migration, through the National Training Authority and the Ministry of Trade Integration and Employment recently donated training materials, worth D500, 000 to Insight Skills Training Centre in Basse. 

The presentation ceremony, which was held at the school’s ground in Basse Manneh Kunda in Upper River Region (URR), included electricity installation, building materials, construction materials and computers, among others.

Handing over the materials to Insight Skills Training Centre, the director-general of the National Training Authority, Ebrima Ceesay, spoke at length on the importance of the donated items. He assured the donors that the items would go along way in complementing the efforts of the beneficiaries, while urging them to use the materials for its intended purpose.

Ceesay described skills training as important, and then urged the youth of the country to desist from traveling ‘through the back way to Europe.’ He further advised them to acquire skills in order to contribute meaningful towards national development.

The principal of the School, Ismalia Ceesay commended the Ecowas-Spanish Funds for Migration for their benevolent gesture. He added that the donation has come at a right time when the school is badly  in need of assistance.

Principal Ceesay assured them that the materials would be put into good use, while challenging the youths to venture into skills training.
