On behalf of my family, the Basse Mansajang Kunda community, Upper River Region and The Gambia at large, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you all for your relentless support during these hard times. Your kind words and the wonderful memories you've shared about my late father, have helped lift our spirits. You all have shown that my father, the late Honorable Bubacarr Baldeh, was a bonafide son of the land and generally loved for the good that he did in this world. 

As Muslims, we have accepted the loss in good faith as Allah’s doing as HE the Almighty is the one we all came from and the one we shall all return to. We ask for your continuous prayers for Allah to grant him the highest Jannatul Firdaws. 

We are grateful to the Senegalese Government for giving him residency these past years and we would like to also extend our sincere gratitude to the Medina Gunas community for giving him a beautiful, fitting funeral. 

Although we have accepted his death in good faith, we are, however, disturbed about the decision made by the Gambian state to not allow our family pay their last respects and honor my father's final wish and inalienable right to be buried in his homeland.

We are grateful to the media for their support and have received your requests for an interview. At this time, we are focused on consoling each other within the family and are still mourning the loss of our dear father, uncle, grandfather, the late Honorable Bubacarr Baldeh.

1972: Clerk, Commissioner's Office, Basse

1977-1982: Project Director, Freedom From Hunger Campaign (FFHC)

1982: Elected Member of Parliament, Independent Candidate (Basse)

1987: Nominated Member of Parliament

1990: Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health

1992-1994: Minister of Youths, Sports and Culture and Member of Parliament for Gimara

2002-2004: Served as the Deputy Mobilizer of the APRC and Managing Director of the Daily Observer Newspaper

2006-2014: Exiled in Senegal
